Bending Radius – Multi-Wall polycarbonate may only be bent along the length of the sheet. Not familiar with the term radius? A radius of 8 ft. would be half the diameter of a 16 ft. circle.
Bend Radius – 8mm 55″ – 10mm 69″ – 16mm 110″ – 16mm X – 120″ – 25mm-3 Wall 173″ – 25mm X No Bend
How to measure Bending Radius on your existing frame.
– One person hold a sheet of plywood, OSB or other sheet good against one side of frame, so that full area of radius is covered.
– 2nd person draws a line on sheet, following the curve.
– Now place sheet on ground (curve line facing up). Attach string to spike. Place spike in ground, at a distance that may result tip of sting tracing the line on the sheet as tip of sting goes over the curve. Too tight a curve, then move spike away from curved line. Once the tip of the string, and the drawn line match, then your string length will equal the radius of your frame!. See “Bend Radius” above to determine which thickness of polycarb will bend over your frames radius. Note: The Base & Cap System minimum bending radius is 8 ft.
