Storage: Store in dry, shaded and well ventilated areas. Supported, sloped stacking is best. Store sheets in covered areas, but not under flexible PVC coverings.

 

*Sundance will Call or Email with freight co. tele and track #. Freight co. may also call. Do not wait. Call them. Freight co. can provide estimated date of arrival. Often another call required to pin down to exact day and time of delivery, especially if shipment gets transferred to a local carrier. To insure understanding delivery arrangements be very specific with the freight co. and/or local agent. Write down all freight co. phone and trac #'s. If problems arise with shipment get us involved as quickly as possible. Email Immediately, to minimize any inconvenience.*

 

Polycarbonate comes via motor freight, often in 40 ft. trucks. Be prepared. Polycarbonate crates are heavy, averaging 6 lbs. per sq. ft. To determine shipment weight add weight of poly to weight of crate. 6mm .27 lbs./sq. ft., 8mm .35 lbs., 10mm .41 lbs., 16mm .57 lbs., 25mm .72 lbs. Have 2 men (and driver) slide crate off truck so one end hits ground and other end leans against truck. If it lands a bit hard O.K., poly. is Very Strong. Now stand and pivot the crate, or tilt back, or get trucker to pull truck forward and then lower, or let crate fall, to the ground. If crate falls flat on ground ok. The center of bullet proof glass is made of polycarbonate. It will not break. Crate will just be easier to take apart.

 

Lift gate service not included in fee we charge you. Freight co. charges extra. Not all freight companies have trucks with lift gates. There is no way for us to know ahead of time if company that delivers your order has trucks with lift gates. Plan on having help to lower crate from truck to the ground. Should you require and request lift gate from freight company this will result in extra charge to your order. Up to $200. Please note, poly. crates are often heavy and lift gate may not hold the weight. Our instructions above are the best way to go.

1 crate charge applies to 1 crate, max. 2000 lbs. Additional crating charges apply to orders over 2000 lbs, or on orders where multiple crates are requested. Crates do not normally have skids attached. See photo of typical Crating.

If you will have difficulty getting crate off truck have 2 handy men available at delivery. Equip them with cat's paw for pulling nails, screws guns for pulling screws, crow bar, pinch bar, claw hammers, etc. Ask trucker if you can crack open case & remove polycarbonate. These guys want the load off their truck and will usually allow this. After sheets unloaded take crate off truck. Trucking company does not want your crate.

 

Upon delivery of material, inspect exterior of packaging and confirm that the correct number of units has been delivered. If both ok, accept the shipment.

 

If crate damaged, open & inspect. It is driver's job and duty to wait while material is inspected. Poly. is extremely durable, often no damage has occurred. If damage present, Note Damage on bill of lading, get drivers signature and keep a copy. If only a few sheets damaged accept shipment, note number of damaged sheets. If most of the shipment damaged do not accept shipment. Email us Immediately and report damage. We will confirm damage report and have replacement material sent out to you immediately (if the above instructions followed). Damage very rarely happens. Failure to follow above will jeopardize claim.

 

Inspect polycarbonate shortly after it arrives. If concealed damage or material shortage is discovered when unpacking, leave material and packing as is and notify Sundance Supply immediately. Delayed reporting jeopardizes your claim. Installing damaged polycarbonate voids all claims. We will deal with situation immediately. If thin protective film (with sheet install note) is missing, Email Sundance for installation instructions. We are not responsible for claims of improperly installed polycarbonate, but will ship new material quickly if your claim fair & reasonable.

 

8 ft. Cap, Base & Cap, Trim & Hardware ships via UPS. Inspect boxes for exterior damage. If damage to contents exists, inform the driver and notify Sundance Supply immediately. We will replace material as needed. 24' Base & Cap ships with poly.
