- Pop-on panels are an easy way
to enclose a screen
porch, sunroom
or greenhouse walls during the winter. Come spring store the
panels and let the breeze move through. Also for sliding
interior doors or windows. Use metal, wood or plastic track
for top & bottom of panels. Purchase track
locally.

For Pop-On
Panels
- •-Cut
polycarbonate sheet to required size.
- •-Do
appropriate measurements and angle cut U-Profile so a neat miter
joint is created at corners. It is best to have the inside base of
the U-Profile snugged up tight against the sheet. This will create
a more rigid panel, plus a tight and strong miter
joint.
- •-Starting
about 1" from the corners, place 3/8" self-drilling screws through
the short leg of the U-Profile and into the polycarbonate sheet.
Screws are provided free with U-Profile order. The screw will
easily move though the U-Profile and penetrate into the
polycarbonate, creating a tight fit. Continue placing screws about
every 12" along the extrusion. Repeat for all
U-Profiles.
- -Pop-On
Panel Installation:
- •-Drill
1/16" weep holes in bottom edge of the lower U-Profile for
moisture release.
- •-Position
panel so framing members are behind long leg of U-Profile. Begin
securing panel to frame by placing clips close to corners &
every 12" on-center. Clips required along top, bottom and sides of
panel as shown below. Once you have set the clips you are done
with that panel.
- •-When
using 48" wide sheets space framing (where sheets meet) a minimum
of 48-1/2" on-center. This will allow sufficient room for clips
(if clips are offset).
- Note: Screws are a
tight fit into clips. Install with a screw gun or portable drill
with phillips bit. The end result is a clip that maintains
position on the panel, offering increased resistance to movement
by high winds. Removal of panel may require twisting clip slightly
with a portable electric or hand screw driver.
