- 1. Select polycarbonate: 16mm is the thickest sheet that will fit in the I-beam flange. See detail of Typical Bay. 16mm
is also a wise choice to help eliminate condensation. White will reduce the massive heat gain that can occur in these structures and is the best choice. Bronze, being a dark color, will get hot, increase heat gain more than white and will also expand and contract more. Clear simply lets too much heat thru.
- 2. Choose Install System: The Base
& Cap System is for frames with roof
purlins & wall girts, as is used on this pool enclosure frame. Study the Base & Cap System carefully.
-
3. Determine Material List: Each nominal 8 ft. bay will require two 4 ft. sheets of polycarbonate, one Base & Cap, U-Profile for the lower edge of the sheet, aluminum tape for the top edge of the sheet, backer rod and silicone. Backer rod is supplied by another company and each tube of silicone we provide will do 25 ft. of 1/4" bead.
- 4. Order Materials: Once you understand above and have a reasonable handle on the materials required, go to Quote
