- Use
foam tape with sheets of polycarbonate over 10 feet, especially
bronze poly.
-
- Movement
of polycarbonate, caused by expansion and contraction, can make noise. To dramatically lessen noise place 3/8" x 1/16" foam tape on all surfaces that come in contact with poly. If using wood, first coat with spar varnish or varathane to
protect the wood. This provides an exceptional surface for foam
tape to stick to. Foam is sticky on one side. Do not apply
ArmorAll, as this solution is only for small sheets of poly and
tape will never stick to it. Make sure to get Cap and other
screws snug. Over tightening will impede free movement of
polycarbonate, noise may develop.
