I have been assisting architects and builders design and construct greenhouses, sunrooms & skylights for 29 years. For 37 years I have been in construction, from a glazers helper (installing glass storefronts) to selling large commercial skylights. I have a wealth of technical expertise to share with you. Greenhouse & Sunroom Construction Note: In the early days I attempted to sell prefab systems, but very often the cost was too high. Once sold, the customer still had to install the unit. Sometimes install was easy, often a real bear. During the first 10 years in the business, I sold glass. Often builders experienced difficulty installing the glass and leaks were a problem. Polycarbonate has proven to be an easy-to-install and easy-to-seal glazing material. Leaks are rarely a problem and can be easily dealt with.
